Round one and two went to Røkkr after they showed early aggression and picked Ultra off quickly. The score and lead flip flopped but things pulled away after Standy got a 10 kill streak and gained an artillery, closing the game out at 250-188. This time around, Røkkr had a much better start on Hardpoint. Røkkr managed to capture point A but couldn’t get B in time. Minnesota bounced back and won the following two rounds, pushing the match to a round 5. Røkkr couldn’t get there in time and lost the round. Round two came down to final lives and Ultra were on track to capture both points. Røkkr ran out of lives on their first attacking round and put Ultra up one point. Røkkr clutched up and got the job done, winning 6-5. Fast forward and we find ourselves at round 11. After back and forth rounds and tied at 3-3, Ultra took advantage of some mistakes that were made on R økkr’s end and took the lead. Now tied 1-1, Ultra came out aggressive in the third round. Røkkr took round 1 on offense with ease and Ultra answered with an early bomb plant play that lured Minnesota into a trap. Ultra took this map at a shocking 250-83. Røkkr just couldn’t get to the points and Toronto’s defense and offense were too strong. Cleanx had a 6 kill streak and was on a roll. The match was 74-2 after the first hardpoint. This map didn’t go as planned for Røkkr. This wasn’t the outcome Røkkr and fans wished for, but we tip our hats off to an amazing team with a tremendous run in Champs. We all know that this matchup has had an intense history and things had to be settled one last time. Røkkr fought hard but unfortunately, they couldn’t close it out. Minnesota Røkkr faced Toronto Ultra once again and this time the stakes were even higher.
